Baggage

Now that I’m home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked into my warm new bed.
I’d like to open my baggage, lest I forget,
There is so much to carry-so much to regret.

Hmmm…Yes, there it is, right on the top-
Let’s unpack loneliness, heartache and loss,
And there by my leash, hide fear and shame,
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave,
I still had to unpack my baggage called pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me. 
But I wasn’t good enough-for they didn’t want me.
Will you add to my baggage? Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things and take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack-
To put away my baggage, to never re-pack?
I pray that you do-I’m so tired, you see.
But I do come with baggage-will you still want me?

Yes little guy ,  you came to us with a baggage  you have carried around
for the first 6 months of your life...a baggage of fears but fortunately this one has 
gone forever...you have now become the most "people loving" little guy we ever had...you have a family-- daddy, mommy and two "big brothers" Jack and Rick who love you very much...you are part of our family TO STAY...
There is no loneliness in this home...you are  always with us...very demanding at times....LOL
I always make sure we have our playing time, grooming time and most of all- loving time....
how else could it be...I look at you, your big brown eyes  and my eyes fill with tears...
How could anyone reject someone as sweet and loving as you are....how could anyone not want you!!!!..I do not understand, but in all honesty, even  though I am sorry and apologize for all that has happened to you before you were part of our family,  I am  so THANKFUL for the gift of YOU!!.

Together, we have unpacked your Baggage...the past.... for a new dawn...no more
baggage little guy, no more fears, no more loneliness, no more being unwanted and most of all-NO MORE PAIN.

We love you Jessie and we truly want you..

Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Boy..

Jessie will be 2 years old on the 22nd of March.  He has been with us 18 months,
 so it makes it hard for me to realize that he is already 2 years old.
We couldn't have asked for a better little friend...his qualities are numerous
and his faults almost none...I know many people will not believe me,
but it is so true....Jessie always wants to please and will do anything to please.
He has a wonderful loving personality...he is good with children (mainly little girls}
he loves older people and younger too....
I cannot find anything "bad" to say about Jessie...except that he likes his cookie jar
way too much...when someone visits, he takes them straight to his cookie jar....
He makes friends so easily...He is spoiled but I wouldn't have it any other way....

Happy Birthday my Sweet Boy

THE PUPPY PRAYER
Now I lay me down to sleep
The king-size bed is soft and deep...
I sleep right in the center groove
My human being can hardly move!

I've trapped his legs, he's tucked in tight
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and "I want food!"

I sneak up slowly to begin
My nibbles on my human's chin.
He wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth-

I'm a puppy, don't you see?
For the morning's here
And it's time to play
I always seem to get my way.

So thank you Lord for giving me
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs and holds me tight
And shares his bed with me at night!
